Tilehurst's councillors at the Dunstall Close car park

Bring back the free half hour!

After a hard-fought victory for Tilehurst in 2012 when its Lib Dem councillors got the first half-hour free for users of the Recreation Road and Dunstall Close car parks, Reading Labour have now unilaterally SCRAPPED it on weekdays, without any consultation.

Tilehurst's Lib Dem councillors say this is a disgrace - the free half-hour is a vital lifeline for local businesses and a real boost to local residents.  We demand better for Tilehurst - and we're demanding the Council restore the free half-hour.

Petition: Save Tilehurst's Free Half Hour

We, the undersigned, call on Reading Borough Council to reverse their undemocratic decision to scrap the free first half hour at the Dunstall Close and Recreation Road car parks without any vote or consultation, and to restore the free first half hour on weekdays.
