Save the Royal Berks rebuild!

The Royal Berkshire Hosital was built in 1839 and has served as our area's main hospital since then.  Parts of the main building still date back to that time, and the hospital was on the list of 40 hospitals on the previous government's 'New Hospitals' programme.

On Monday the 29th of July, Labour Chancellor Rachel Reeves announced a pause and review of this programme.  In September, Labour Health Secretary Wes Streeting removed the RBH from the list of schemes that would progress with delivery.

The people of Reading deserve a hospital fit for the 21st Century, not the 19th.  We think, whatever the outcome of the review, it's urgent that the Royal Berkshire Hospital rebuild is prioritised by the new Labour Government.

Petition: Save the Royal Berkshire Hospital rebuild

We, the undersigned, call on the Labour Government to prioritise the urgently-needed rebuilding of the Royal Berkshire Hospital in its review of the New Hospitals programme.
