Marie French for Norcot

Marie French and family live on the western edge of Norcot, where her children attend local schools.  Marie has lived in Reading for fifteen years now; she works in the telecoms industry.  Until recently, she was the chair of Citizen’s Advice here in Reading.  She spent much of the Covid pandemic volunteering in Norcot to ensure that elderly and vulnerable people were well-looked-after and were well-fed during and after lockdown.

Marie has been campaigning in our community for years.  She founded a major local campaign group and fund-raises for legal aid.  She helped run the popular local Progress Theatre here in Reading and is a governor of Churchend School.  Marie is the hard-working local champion that Norcot needs.

Marie is strongly against the Labour administration's unilateral scrapping of the 30 free minutes at Dunstall Close and Recreation Road car parks, and encourages residents to sign our petition to restore it.  The free 30 minutes was a Lib Dem victory back in 2012, and was scrapped by the Labour portfolio holder without any vote.
